OBITUARIES
LIZZIE HAMILTON


Lizzie Ann (Olivia) Wilson Hamilton, 98, died Sunday, March 13, 2012, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, AR. She was born Feb. 6, 1914, to the late John and Emma Harris Wilson in Drew County.

Educated in the Loggy Bayou Community, she was employed by the Selma School System as a cook for over 30 years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Sixteen Section M.B. Church of Selma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Hamilton, three children, Barbara Parker, Elvin Hamilton, and Betty Ellzey, four brothers, Gus, Robert, Julius, and John Willie Wilson, and five sisters, Lee Wilson, Minnie Kinermon, Mattie Everett, Essie Lucas and Lonzetta Smith.

Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Reddish of Selma, AR, and Eddie Muldrow of Gardena, CA; a son-in-law, William Ellzey, Sr. of Chicago, IL; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Ann Hamilton of Fountain Hill, AR; 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 20 at 2 p.m. at Sixteen Section M.B. Church with the Rev. G.H. Toney officiating. Burial will be in the Sixteen Section Cemetery with arrangements by Christian Brothers Funeral Home of Monticello.

REV. BILLY M. YOUNG SR.


Rev. Billy M. Young, Sr., 70, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. A native of Los Angeles, CA, he was born Jan. 1, 1942.

He was a retired pastor of the House of Prayer in Memphis, TN. He was a Los Angeles, CA, paramedic and owned and operated LaZone Catering Service.

Survivors include his wife, Pearlie Brown Young of Tillar, AR; one daughter, Armenda Cole of North Little Rock, AR; one son, Billy Young, Jr., of Mission Viejo, CA; two sisters, Marylee McDole of Compton, CA, and Doris Lewis of Los Angeles, CA; two grandsons and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19 at 11 a.m. at Almeta M.B. Church in Reedville, AR, with Pastor Edward Demery officiating. Burial will be in the Brown Family Cemetery in Tillar, AR, with arrangements by Christian Brothers Funeral Home of Monticello.
